direct

1、使用的空间和时间不同direct常指空间、距离,表示“直接地”; directly可指时间,表示“立刻”“马上”。

2、修饰的词语不同

direct多用于直义，修饰动词，而directly则多用于比喻义，修饰形容词。

3、使用范围情况不同

如果乘坐交通工具，飞机、火车、汽车等从一地直达某地，不换乘其他交通工具，则不可用directly，而要用direct来表示。

一、Direct意思是

1、“径直（in a straight line）”，如We flew direct to Paris。我们直飞巴黎。

2、“不通过中间人直接找某人（skip over intermediaries）”，如 He went direct to the president。（他直接去找董事长）。

二、Directly除了表达直接的意思外，可用来表示

1、“一会儿”，“马上”，“不久”

Directly after， they resumed the journey。 （之后不久他们又继续赶路。）

2、有时还用作连词，表示“一……就”。如

Directly I walked in the door I smelt smoke。 我一进门就闻到烟味。

在形容词或其他副词前，通常使用directly，如The lighthouse was directly opposite the island。（灯塔正对着小岛）。

1、 The needle on the compass is pointing directly north。 （指南针上的指针正直接对着北方。）

2、 You will damage your eyes if you look directly at the sun。（直接看着太阳会伤害你的眼睛。）

3、 The recession led directly to a major depression。 （经济衰退直接导致了大潇条。）

4、 They had to leave directly。 （他们不得不马上离开。）
