prison和jail的区别

jail一般指的是用来关押等待判决的嫌犯、服刑期在一年以下的犯人以及未能保释的犯人，译为看守所、拘留所更合适。

prison则指关押长期罪犯的监狱。关押的都是刑罚很重的犯人，因此关押时间一般都是以年计算甚至无期徒刑。

新的证据使人们对这个犯罪入狱的男子是否有罪产生了怀疑。
