cue和prompt的区别

prompt 有很多意思,其中之一是提白/ 提示,与cue相同.

Several actors forgot their words and had to be prompted. Give the actors a cue...为演员提白

但其他用法有区别:

What prompted you to say that?The recession has prompted consumers to cut back on

buying cars.促使

Your cue is `– whatever the vicar says!\'提示（指演出时给同台演员作暗示的尾白）

He took this as his cue to leave.暗示/hint

The gunshot is your cue to enter.信号

再问： Your prompt is `– whatever the vicar says!可以吗？

再答： 可以这样用 \"Your prompt is `– whatever the vicar says\" , 但在其他情况下, cue 与 prompt 不是同义词!
